There Is Sufficient NFA Rice In Bataan

Written by Remon

The provincial manager of the National Food Authority (NFA) in Bataan made known in public that there is no shortage of NFA rice in the said province to relieve fears of the future that Bataan will also be afflicted with a shortage of the constantly needed grains now according to report being undergone in other portions of the Philippines.

IN addition to the accredited rice retailers found in public markets everywhere in Bataan, the NFA likewise provides for big Bigasan Parokyas in Bangkal, Abucay; Saysain, Bagac; Bayan-Bayanan, Dinalupihan and Mabayo, Morong to make usable to consumers rice of low price throughout the year.

In order that NFA rice will be more capable of being seen to buyers, the NFA has invented a system in which only one operator each in large public markets such as those in City of Balanga and in Limay town will sell the NFA rice to consumers.

Operative last March 31, the NFA in Bataan has begun repacking NFA rice at one kilo each before these are bought to various NFA outlets. To firmly establish that NFA rice will be made usable to as many families as possible, subject to the new system, a buyer could purchase only three kilograms of NFA rice daily.

During my visit to public market last February, the cheapest rice cost PhP24.00 per kilogram. During my visit to public market last March, the cheapest rice cost PhP29.00. I did not find any NFA rice during these three visits of mine.
