HK-Clark Flights Launched, DMIA Expanded

The Hong Kong Express initiated its three times a week flight on March 5, 2008 at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) for the next three months to attract Chinese tourists and investments at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. The Hk Express will utilize it's Boeing 737-800 with the ability to accommodate 164 passengers for Hong Kong-Clark flight. The Boeing 737-800 departs Hong Kong at 11:15 a.m., arrives at Clark at 1;15 p.m. and depart for Hong Kong at 1:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and arrives from Hong Kong at 6:40 p.m. on Fridays.
Meanwhile, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo desires earnestly the DMIA to become the premier airport by 2010. The DMIA passenger terminal, presently accommodating 500,000 passengers per year, is being enlarged to make greater its capacity to 1-2 million passengers annually. It is expected to be brought to completion by March. By the middle of 2008, construction of the Terminal 2 project is expected by 2009.
Presently, a facility to cater to the needs of air carriers operating at the DMIA is likewise being built at the airport complex that will firstly produce 4,000 meals daily as soon as completely operational. The in-flight catering service facility is expected to be fully accomplished by April.
