The past administration of the provincial government of Bataan had 1000 employees. Currently, the present administration of Bataan Governor Enrique Garcia has 600 employees.Because Bataan Vice Governor Serafin Roman agrees with Governor Tet Garcia that there are positions exceeding what is necessary in the capitol, a reorganization was proposed. The suggested reorganization is previously at the committee level of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and is hoped to cut down the present workforce of 600 to 550 employees. The provincial government of Bataan is expected to cave at minimum P10 million yearly from salaries and benefits of the employees to be stopped to make use of. The savings can be utilized for other services such as more satisfactory road networks, health and education. The laying off of employees will be advantageous for the provincial government of Bataan, but it will be disadvantageous for the employees that will be laid off. An alternative source of livelihood must be available right away. [Via Journal Online] |
