Mabini Awards For Serviceable Disabled

The 2008 Apolinario Mabini Awards has been launched by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc. (PFRD). These awards are granted publicly on individuals with disabilities who have contributed in helping and improving the quality of life of their fellow Filipinos with disabilities and on groups that have contributed importantly in their special fields and have delivered prominent services to the sector of persons with disabilities (PWDs).The Mabini Awards are granted out every two years in the month of July in recognition of Apolinario Mabini, the Sublime Paralytic, whose courage at the time of Philippine Revolution of 1896 have remarkably influence his fellow countrymen in combating against the Spaniards. The various categories of the awards are Disabled Filipino of the Year, Disabled Group of the Year, Employer of the Year, Disabled-Friendly Establishment, Local Government Unit, Rehabilitation Volunteer and Mabini Presidential Award. All nominating entries must be submitted on or before February 28, 2008 and giving of the rewards will occur during the annual celebration of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week in July 2008. Any individual who has knowledge of individuals with disabilities who have given outstanding service to their fellow Filipinos with disabilities must nominate.
