Westwind is a jet used in business. It was first manufacture in Israel and it remained in the production for almost 20 years. Being known as the fast air freight aircraft, it can have as many as ten passengers.

Here in the Phils., Chairman Robert Garcia of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority pointed out that they have converted the Westwind jet to what they called “Carejet Assist”. It is a mini intensive-care unit ward with complete hospital staff, an oxygen system and ventilators. It operates 24/7 through the Aviation Concepts Logistics Center in Makati City.  To prove its capability, the jet has been used in nine air-ambulance missions and several other medical and repatriation activities. The company is serving insurance firms from South America, the United States and Europe and other emergency needs.

Recently, a severely injured man, from Pohnpei, Micronesia, was transferred to the Uni health-Baypoint hospital at the former American naval base. The patient is now recovering in the hospital according to Scotty Watson, program director of Carejet Assist and a 20-year experienced person of the air-ambulance industry.
