San Rafael, Bulacan is the now one of the towns which fascinated more than P500 million in investments in the province. Its municipality had collaborated with Sutherland Corporation for a two-day job fair which happened last Dec. 27 to 28, 2011. The entity will hire 2,000 workers next year. A training in Manila will be given to them.  According to Mayor Lorna Silverio, Sutherland will provide at least P100 million for the expansion of San Rafael Information Technology Center at Tambubong village. The mayor further explained that the company will establish a call center in their IT Center, that’s why they need at least 2,000 new employees.

There were also three companies which had invested in the province: Asian Grains Corporation, a Filipino-owned company that produces corn products, endowed a total of P300 million; Korean AAIN poured over P100 million investments in the area; and Republic Pyrotechnics, an addition to Dragon Fireworks, the country’s largest fireworks manufacturer which has been operating in the town for at about 10 years. At present, a motorway is being developed which will serve as entry point for investors. The P3 billion arterial by-pass road at North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be utilized to help the investors to easily access the municipality. With a total length of 22.65 kilometers with 10 bridges within its stretch, investors will view the vast agricultural lands of Guiguinto, Balagtas, Plaridel, Bustos and San Rafael. In addition, Secretary Singson gave the assurance that the national government will assist them in financing the Arterial Road By-pass project. JICA or Japan International Cooperation Agency will be contacted in case of budget constraints. [via philstar.com]
