Olongapo City mayor James Gordon Jr signed Executive Order 67 forming a composite team to check on entertainment businesses and enforce City Ordinance No. 28, Series of 1995 prohibiting indecent acts in public places, but cause-oriented groups want task force to enforce an Anti-Prostitution ordinance aiming to eliminate prostitution and penalize perpetrators and patrons of prostitution in the city.Alma Bulawen, executive director of Buklod, received gladly Executive Order 67, but persuded authorities to do greater by extinguishing prostitution. Like wise, Buklod, a non-government organization that assists ex-prostitutes, together with other organization, persuade local solons to add greater teeth to the Anti-Prostitution ordinance. Moreover, the task force must also take in members of the civic organizations. According to Ferdie Margata, head of the task force, the authoritative command given to the task force is opposed to lustful and indecent shows, while the problem of prostitution is not on the side of the shows but on the side of the VIP rooms. What is taking place inside those VIP rooms is unknown to those outside. We must be inside. The legislators must add greater teeth to the Anti-Prostitution ordinance, while the executors should do what is provided or required by the said ordinance to get inside. :) [Via GMANews.TV] |
