This November, Clark Freeport will be showcasing the annual trade fair of the unique products and scenic locations of Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordilleras.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 3 declared that this 2nd North Philippines (NorthPhil) Tourism and Travel Expo will be held from November 11 to 13 at the SM City Clark event center. There will be exhibit area of different provinces like Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac. Also, various booths of tourism-related businesses such as hotels, resorts, and airlines will be featured. The booths of Clark Development Corporation, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, DOT Regional Offices 1,2,3 and CAR are also included in the plan.

In addition, theatrical presentations, corporate game shows, product presentations, raffle draws, and crafts and culinary demonstrations are also part of the said program. DOT Central Luzon regional director Ronnie Tiotuico stated that the annual expo was envisioned to make North Philippines a global tourism hub.

According to Mr. Tiotuico, North Philippines is known because of its main destinations such as Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Zambales, and Baguio city. In 2010, about 14 percent of the country’s total foreign and domestic tourist quantified to 11.7 million. Tiotuico expects more tourist arrival because of the 94-kilometer Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport. [via PIA]
