According to the Department of Trade and Industry-Zambales (DTI-Zambales), there are 500 business tycoons from the three towns of Zambales that availed the fast business registration system thru the assistance of the National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC).The mandatory registering agencies are: Philippine Social Security System (SSS), PAG-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth and DTI. The local government units (LGU) successfully conducted three joint mobile registration services in the towns of Masinloc (January 18), Iba (January 25), and San Antonio (February 1). DTI OIC-provincial director Elenita Ordonio stated that the municipal government of Iba demanded for another registration because many applicants come to the municipal hall everyday waiting for the mobile registration. The agency already reached their target of 200 registrants this year. By next year, they are planning to visit 10 more remaining towns of the province. NERBAC aims to provide prospective entrepreneurs/ investors on various business options that await them in accordance to the investment priorities of the government. A one-stop action center which will facilitate the processing and documentation of all paper requirements necessary for the establishment of a business enterprise is also included in the line-up. NERBAC was formulated under RA 7470 known as the National Economic Research & Business Assistance Center of the Philippines Act of 1992. It was formally introduced in Central Luzon on January 31, 2008. DTI Region 3 established NERBAC-Central Luzon to contend in the National Competitiveness Council (NCC)’s national project to streamline transaction flows and reduce the cost of doing business and to promote Anti-Red Tape Program.
