With the celebration of the opening of a 2.6-million US dollar modern and integrated rice processing complex that would lower post-harvest losses combined with good seeds technology, it is possible that Aurora could come out into view as the country’s top rice producer on the basis of per capita production.On the basis of 120 cavans of rice production per hectare, Aurora has a good possibility of becoming the country’s next rice granary. The Korean government’s first and only grant for agriculture mechanization in the Philippines funded the modern and integrated rice processing complex. The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) granted a $2.3-million with $0.3-million funding from the Philippine government as counterpart. The complex is constructed on a 1.1-hectare land in Barangay Reserva in Baler while the Department of Agriculture is offering Php10-million to Aurora farmers to make them possible to increase production to a greater degree by planting larger in number quality seeds. It is advisable to the farmers of Aurora to use their investments wisely, to be industrious, and not to waste their chance toward progress.
