To set up a world-class, full-service aviation center inside the Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA), Aviation Concepts Holdings, an American-Canadian joint venture, is set to take over airport hangars abandoned by courier giant Federal Express.According to SBMA administrator Armand C. Arreza SBIA has been inactive since February 2009 when Federal Express transferred its Asia-Pacific hub to China.
So as the Aviation Concepts is pursued, more new opportunities could be opened by attracting intercontinental jets to the airport. Anthony Decoste, Aviation Concepts senior vice-president, said that their company would primarily invest $1.1 million to regenerate airport facilities and start off operations by mid-September. Aviation Concepts want to bring here what is in Guam and expand it. They want aircraft owners and VIPs to see the wonderful area Subic Bay as physically and business-wise fit. This rehabilitation of SBIA is expected to provide more job opportunities since the company would hire 50 employees for its Subic operations. [via bworldonline.com] |
