The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recognized ten most excellent One Town, One Product (OTOP) projects in Central Luzon throughout the duration of the awarding program at the Oasis Hotel in Angeles City.Gapan City in Nueva Ecija was awarded as the most successful OTOP for 2006 due to 90 percent of footwear manufacturers in the city were included in the OTOP project and throughout the duration of the foundation day of the city, it has likewise successfully held its annual tsinelas festival. Awarded as the second place was the City of San Fernando in Pampanga for its lantern making project and its local government unit (LGU) was specially awarded as Most Supportive LGU to OTOP Project for 2006. Prized as the third place was the town of Bagac in Bataan for its processed cashew nuts. The other successful OTOP projects were embroidered gowns and barongs of Pandi in Bulucan, processed fish of the City of Balanga in Bataan, bottle holders made of seagrass of San Simon in Tarlac, sweets and other delicacies of Botolan in Zamabales, fresh and processed sweet of potatoes of Castillejos in Zambales and products made of sabutan of San Luis in Aurora.
