Electronics and ICT-BPO Jobs

According to the April 2010 report of Clark Development Corp. Customer Service Department, the electronics industry is now the leading employer in the Clark free port. The electronics industry has provided 11,732 jobs, the ICT sector and business process outsourcing (BPO) had 10,833 jobs, the garments and sewing industry had 8,762, the manufacturing firms had 6,603 jobs, and the commercial companies had 5,405 jobs.

Rodem Perez CDC-CSD manager stated that Clark's work force as of April of this year attained a total of 56,613 employment based from 385 locators.

From the 56,613 Clark workers 54,028 are working with registered locators, whereas 797 belong to the CDC labour force and 351 of them with the state-owned Clark International Airport Corp. CDC-contracted agencies had employed 1,437 workers.

The statistics had shown that 71.61%percent of Clark employees reside from various communities in the province of Pampanga where the 21.48% came from Angeles City; 19.98% from Mabalacat; 4.11% from Porac; and 26.03% from other Pampanga areas. Tarlac shared 10.89% of Clark employees, with 2.76% residence of Bamban; 2.55% of Capas; and 5.58% from other Tarlac areas. [via balita.ph]
