After the report of the provincial government of Bulacan of the effects of quarrying in the province, DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) has suspended the operations of Rosemoor Mining Development Corp.

The corporation receives the said penalty since the company’s activities were destroying the road network and a park there.

Rosemoor, a marble company, was suspended before, in 2006, when it failed to comply with environmental, social, safety and health measures. The suspension was lifted in 2008 after Rosemoor complied.

At present, the company is still under a comprehensive investigation regarding the incident.

With the support of DENR and other local officials, it will be now easier to help save the environment from huge destructions from this kind of abuse of mother nature. [via manilastandardtoday.com]
