The groundbreaking ceremony of the Aurora Pacific Ecozone at Phase I in Casiguran, Aurora was led by Senator Edgardo J. Angara. Among the attendees in the groundbreaking are the 300 local government officials and townsfolk together with Governor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, Congressman Sonny Angara, Mr. Vitaliano Sabalo ASEZA's Acting Dept. Administrator, Antonio Evangelista, the Chairman of New Kanlaon, Provincial Board Members of Aurora and members of the Casiguran Municipal Council. Angara said that Aurora is now in spur of economic development. It is known as the gateway to the Pacific because it can transact with international commerce to gain more investors so this can be a main location for an economic zone.
The plans for decentralization to empower their local governments are the engines of Angara's team towards economic growth. They don't want to be a dependent of Metro Manila. Angara also stated that each provinces must have the advocate to build their own economy. The building of entrance plaza, hotel and administration building and various site developments are included in the economic built up.
