To resolve the problem in shortage supply of ethanol, an alternative plan is about to establish in Subic.
An ethanol import terminal is being proposed at the Subic Freeport Zambales that is expected to flesh out solutions.
The proposal came out in previous discussions among industry stakeholders as they fleshed out solutions to the lingering dilemma of ensuring domestic ethanol supply to meet demand jump during the prescribed full implementation timeframe for E10, or the 10-percent ethanol blend to gasoline.
Department of Energy (DoE) and National Biofuels Board (NBB) are currently examining the details of the proposed project including the importing guidelines and other issues like housekeeping rules that the industry and end-users must adhere.
If all the issues will be cleared the proposed project will be started on the coming years since the wider E10 mandate is now just around the corner. [via mb.com.ph] |
