Clark firms are now recovering from last years' economic meltdown.

Most firms finally recovered because of the sound economic agenda instituted by the administration of Clark Development Corporation President Benigno N. Ricafort and the support of the state-owned firm extended to the various crisis-affected firms.

The world wide economic meltdown have taken its toll inside the Freeport, especially on the number of workers which declined by close to 3,000 from 57,790 in Dec. 2008 to 54,829 workers in April 2009.

But now, with the report of Customer Service Department to Ricafort, Clark was able to breach the more than 57,000 mark since the crisis left almost 3,000 jobless in April 2009.

In addition to the report, CSD said that as the number of employee increases with now around 54,829 workers.

The noticeable increase is a sign of constant economic revival and development, including the entry of new projects signed last year.

Expansion of firms is also expected for the coming years since Arroyo' vision is to make Clark as Central Luzon's employment capital and contribute to generation of new workers to develop the economic growth of the country.

Ricafort said that they are also positive that 60, 000 workers would be achieved these coming years that would help in giving more job opportunities to all Filipinos especially to the nearby provinces. [via pia.gov.ph]
