As President Arroyo recently signed the Republic Act No. 9715, which is an act of converting Bagac-Mariveles Road into national road, economy development and tourism is expected to boost up in the province of Bataan.After the House Representatives and the Senate passed smoothly the measure, President Arroyo signed the said law. Republic Act No. 9715 is known to be an act converting Bagac-Mariveles Road into national road, which is sponsored by Rep. Abet S. Garcia (2nd District, Bataan) with the help of his father, Gov. Enrique Tet Garcia. Rep. Garcia said that the completion of the said project will further boost the tourism industry of Bataan and attract more investors to invest in the newly converted Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), the former Bataan Economic Zone (BEZ) in Mariveles town.
Local officials of Mariveles, leaded by Mayor Jesse Concepcion, supported the conversion of the BEZ into FAB and the Marivels-Bagac Road into a national road.
