DHL Express reveals intention to bring into existence third gateway, a passage into or out of a place. DHL Express is thinking over carefully the state of being possible of preparing Subic-Clark-Bataan triangle in Central Luzon.

DHL manages one gateway in Metro Manila where 90 percent of its shipments are run thru, and one more in Metro Cebu. DHL utilizes its Manila and Cebu gateways to ship commodities to and from Hong Kong, its chief center of activity in the Asia Pacific.

The place of the third gateway would need the nearness of an international airport. Davao City, Clark and Subic have already international airports in their possession.

DHL Express aimed to make greater its service points from nine to twenty by 2007 as part of its act of enlarging spree.

Davao is a chance for advancement, but Central Luzon passageway is up to this time an area of extraordinarily great chance for advancement in spite of the presence of rivals such as Federal Express, which presently manages a center of activity in Subic, and UPS, which operates one in Clark.

“If there is an opportunity to grow big, that can be serviced. Davao is an opportunity,” he said.

Llamson the Central Luzon corridor was still an area of enormous opportunities despite the presence of competitors, Federal Express, which presently operates a hub in Subic and UPS, which has one in Clark.

“There is a reason why they [competitors] are there,” he said.

Fortunately, Federal Express would leave empty its center of activity in Subic after it moves its center of operations in China by 2008. it is a great chance for progress for DHL Express specially when the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway will be brought to completion in November 2007.
