Under its Kablikat sa Kabuhayan Farmer's Tarining Program, this year SM Foundation will train farmers on the production of high-value crops in eight provinces.Farmers from Cavite, Batangas, Cebu, Camarines Sur, Davao, Negros Occidental, Pampanga and Laguna will be the participants of the said training. Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan is a joint undertaking of private and government agencies. This collaborative effort was initiated by SM Foundation with Harbest Agribusiness Corporation, the Department of Agriculture regional filed units and the local government units as project components. The program aims to help marginal farmers improve and increases their productivity. And this can be achieved through the learning offered by the program like lectures and hands-on training of the participants using the concept of the farmers’ field school, which is a group-based learning process that incorporates concepts and methods from agro- ecology, experiential education and community development.
