SBMA Aided Condense Unemployed Rates

SBMA (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority) top official said that the agency's jobs-generation programs have lowered the unemployment rate in Central Luzon. The unemployment rate decreased from 11.5% in '07 to 9.4% in July this year. Central Luzon unemployment figures went down from 14.1% in ’07 to 9.2% in July.

One of the projects made is the job matching which facilitate regional dialogue to address unemployment, promote skills matching and industrial peace in the region.

Arreza said that as more industries locate in Subic, a corresponding increase in jobs in the services sector is expected. [via]
