President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will launch on Wednesday the first five floors of the expansion in the story Angeles University Foundation Medical Center (AUFMC) in Angeles City, Pampanga. The medical tower was named after the president’s mother, Evangelina Macapagal, a medical doctor who founded many health centers and education centers for the poor during the administration of her husband, Diosdado Macapagal. The Macapagal family is truly proud of the honor accorded to their mother who played significant role in advancing health care and education as well as carving a niche in the hearts of the country for her devotion to indisputable service to the poor. The president lauded the untiring efforts of the AUFMC in bringing the quality and affordable health care services to the poor through their new medical facility they are offering to the public. This proves that Arroyo’s administration gives priority in caring for the young as well as the aging population. [via] |
