Balanga sets example for Central Luzon

With the intention to furnish local chief executives (LCEs) with essential knowledge and attitude to effectively and efficiently manage their respective localities during their term of office, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) organized a three-day orientation of 81 first and second-term mayors in Central Luzon. Mayor Joet S. Garcia III was selected to speak about “good governance and effective leadership” since he had shared good practices in the implementation of his priority programs and projects in Balanga City. He had received copious awards such as Dangal ng Bayan, city’s smoking ban, road improvements and peace and order program.

Apple Sponsored Photography Workshop

Last Feb. 8 and 9 at Subic Park Hotel in Zambales, the multi-awarded and renowned Australian photographer and Apple Pro trainer, Gunther Deichmann conducted a two-day adventure photography and digital photo management workshop using Apple’s Aperture software for photography since it was sponsored by Power Mac Center. During the workshop, easy to use and powerful tools in photography were explained. Tips on color correction and editing, making the right adjustments (when to use curves, brushes, etc), backing up files, protecting images, analyzing RAW versus JPEG, managing and sharing libraries, as well as how to work with Aperture are included in the discussion.

Westwind Jet: Carejet Assist

Westwind is a jet used in business. It was first manufacture in Israel and it remained in the production for almost 20 years. Being known as the fast air freight aircraft, it can have as many as ten passengers.
Here in the Phils., Chairman Robert Garcia of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority pointed out that they have converted the Westwind jet to what they called “Carejet Assist”. It is a mini intensive-care unit ward with complete hospital staff, an oxygen system and ventilators. It operates 24/7 through the Aviation Concepts Logistics Center in Makati City.  To prove its capability, the jet has been used in nine air-ambulance missions and several other medical and repatriation activities. The company is serving insurance firms from South America, the United States and Europe and other emergency needs.

People from Central Luzon are encouraged by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to take the qualifying test of the Foreign Service Officer Exam which will be held on March 10. Arturo Romua, DFA Regional Officer-In-Charge, invites all natural born Filipinos, 35 years old and below, bachelor’s degree holder or higher, employed or currently pursuing advanced studies. The exam will happen in 14 locations which include San Fernando, Pampanga.

The institutionalization of Zambales' Public Employment Services Offices is the aim of Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. The projects provided by DOLE had helped their people to enrich their lives. Ebdane believes that self-reliant will be the key to their success, that is why he always thinks of other means to maximize the productivity of the province. About 2 million-peso budget was allotted for the construction of multi-purpose hall in Iba. This building will be the home for vocational courses in the province. The amount of P500,000 is also granted for technical & vocational instructors. Community-based trainings will be provided to the residence of Zambales to assist them in their livelihood needs.

Tristan Madi returns P164k cheque

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is very proud of their honest employee who surrendered a P164,250 cheque that he found in a parking lot.

"I live a Christian life and as a Christian, it is the right thing to do. And one Christian practice I value is ‘do not take what is not yours'," said Tristan Madi, a supply officer at the SBMA Tourism Department. He is married with two kids. He has been working with the SBMA Tourism Department for 15 years.

Mariveles Bataan promotes clear waterways
