Lakbay Norte Revives North Luzon

With the week-long “Lakbay Norte” (Travel North), there are now more grounds to visit and revive the beauty of Northern Luzon.

Lakbay Norte is tour which took a team of local media and bloggers to nine different places covering nearly 1,800 kilometers.

The tour includes the visit in Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, La Union, Baguio City, Pangasinan, Subic Bay, Tarlac, Pampanga and Clark Free Port Zone and other part of Northern Luzon to promote economic development through tourism.

 
New Town Hall of San Rafael via Maharlika

The town of San Rafael in the province of Bulacan is believed "rustic and sleepy" because this town's old municipal hall is not capable of being reached by way of the Maharlika and the Mac Arthur highways.

To alter the location, a 3-heactare lot in barangay Sampaloc along the Maharlika Highway was acquired and new municipal hall was built. An initial Php20 million from the Office of the President, the counterpart money from fund of this town and the countryside development fund of Bulacan 3rd District Representative were accumulated to finance the construction of the new municipal hall.

 
DENR Supports Bulacan to Stop Quarrying

After the report of the provincial government of Bulacan of the effects of quarrying in the province, DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) has suspended the operations of Rosemoor Mining Development Corp.

The corporation receives the said penalty since the company’s activities were destroying the road network and a park there.

 
Satellite Firm at Subic

A major satellite operator in Asia is moving the control of $800 million worth of equipment to its Subic facility this year.

Chief Executive Tom Choi of Asia Broadcasting Systems confirmed that the company would enhance its workforce by over 50% in two years.

With the said movement the company will also train staff for the transfer of the control operations to the Subic center from the southern part of Hong Kong.

 
Aurora Pacific Ecozone

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Aurora Pacific Ecozone at Phase I in Casiguran, Aurora was led by Senator Edgardo J. Angara. Among the attendees in the groundbreaking are the 300 local government officials and townsfolk together with Governor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, Congressman Sonny Angara, Mr. Vitaliano Sabalo ASEZA's Acting Dept. Administrator, Antonio Evangelista, the Chairman of New Kanlaon, Provincial Board Members of Aurora and members of the Casiguran Municipal Council. Angara said that Aurora is now in spur of economic development. It is known as the gateway to the Pacific because it can transact with international commerce to gain more investors so this can be a main location for an economic zone.
